Naked Deli Launches First Airport Restaurant At Newcastle Airport in the UK

The saucily named Naked Deli has launched its first ever airport restaurant at Newcastle Airport in the UK.

This Newcastle-based healthy food chain provides a range of gluten and dairy-free, vegan and paleo dishes. Using only whole and natural state food, the chain boasts a menu that includes nothing processed.

The Naked Deli launched in 2014 with a focus on locally-sourced foods, responsibly sourced fish, and organic eggs and dairy. The oil they use in their dishes is organic coconut oil, and their sauces are made in-house. This is legitimate clean eating at its finest and we can’t wait to try it!

The Newcastle Airport outpost just opened this July. It’s the chain’s fourth location in Newcastle, and they have hopes of expanding nationally soon.

Dean Ward, Head of Commercial at Newcastle Airport said: “It’s really important that we offer something for everyone here at Newcastle International. With more and more of our customers becoming increasingly health conscious, I’m confident that The Naked Deli will go down a treat. Everyone here at the airport is very excited for the opening of the outlet.”

What’s on the menu

The Naked Deli does a range of breakfast items (served until 11:30 am), main meals, juices and smoothies and also some tasty sweet treats. Everything they serve is freshly prepared in their deli.

Drinks

Drinks include green smoothies, protein smoothies and shakes, and superfood smoothies. They’ve also got hot drinks and organic teas.

All menu items list protein, fat and carbs in grams, as well as the calories. Their acai bowl with blueberries, strawberries, coconut, chia seeds, and superfood granola, for instance, has the following nutritional profile: Pro 5.6g. Fat 3.7g. Carb 43g. Cal 242kl.

Mains

You’ll find things like burgers, wraps, skewers, bowls and salads on the main menu. Their list of “Naked favourites” includes crispy quinoa chicken fillets, goats cheese and asparagus frittata, and baked salmon and smashed sweet potato. Yum!

Treats

They have a selection of “Naked Treats” for which they have gained an enviable reputation. Their cleat treats use ingredients such as raw cacao and avocados to create specialties like raw snickers, raw carrot cake and some amazing “naked” protein balls using grass fed whey and a mix of whole foods. Best of all, they don’t use any refined sugars in their treats.

Kirstie Kimmis, director at The Naked Deli said: “I’m a firm believer that your holiday starts the minute you get to the airport, and what better way to celebrate seeing the world with a delicious, healthy meal. I also recognize that many of the airport’s millions of passengers are business travelers and it’s important to ensure that those that live their lives on the go are benefitting from a balanced and nutritious diet.”

Location

The Naked Deli is located in the departure lounge at Newcastle International Airport in Newcastle, UK.
