Travelers can now rest easy at Perth Airport. They are the first airport in Australia to trial sleeping pods.

The pods have arrived amidst a trend in wellness-focused offerings at the airport.

Earlier this year, Qantas launched a wellness-focused lounge at Perth Airport. It’s a great place to recharge if you’re traveling on QF9 from Melbourne to London and QF10 from London to Melbourne. If you plan to travel this route, which is an exhausting 17-hour long haul, this lounge has plenty of amenities to help you relax and restore.

Best features of Perth Airport’s new sleeping pods

1. Individual-sized comfort

There are two types of pods: recliners and lie-flat beds. Each one feels like a business class pod with pillows, blankets, and ear plugs, perfectly sized for one person and totally private.

2. Secure storage

You can store your hand luggage securely inside the pod with you. You can also secure your full-sized baggage if you haven’t yet checked in.

3. Charging

The pods offer USB and GPO plugs for charging your devices while you sleep.

4. Easy, flexible booking

The pods can be booked via the Perth Airport website for $12 an hour (lie-flats) or $14 an hour (recliners). They also offer an unlimited package up to 5 hours for $45 (lie-flats) or $50 (recliners). You can learn more and book online here: https://www.perthairport.com.au/sleepingpods

Location and hours

You’ll find these sleeping pods at T1 Domestic (which is linked to T1 International and a short walk from T2), opposite Hudsons Coffee in the ground floor check-in area. The lie-flat beds are available from 5pm to 5am.
