Here are 5 Airport Wellness New Year’s Resolutions you can keep

1. Sit less and move more

There is a lot of sitting around and waiting at airports. The Mayo Clinic website notes that research has linked “sitting for long periods to several health concerns.” For example, obesity, increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, and excess body fat around the waist.

Try a short 15-minute walk, get up and stretch or do some yoga.

2. Limit screen time

Lose your smartphone addiction, spending too much time on electronic devices, particularly on social media, has been linked to depression, anxiety, and loneliness.

Setting a goal to cut back on the time you spend scrolling through social media and on the internet may help boost your mood.

3. Cut back on alcohol

Excessive drinking at the airport or on-board a flight is a bad idea. If you find yourself boozing at the airport bars, remember – you might not make it on your flight if you’re overly intoxicated.

Try fruit-infused sparkling water, kombucha, or herbal tea. If you are an anxious flier, read some of our tips here.

Spend less time on your phone, stopping to notice your environment, and listening intently to others are simple ways to be more present.
