Did you know that a large swath of Zürich’s airport is a dedicated nature reserve? This includes the “Klotener Riet” conservation area between the two runways.
On a sunny day, this is a beautiful chance to get outside, get some fresh air and exercise, and even watch the planes taking off and landing as you explore on your own set of wheels.
You can rent inline skates and bikes (including helmets and protective gear), as well as Nordic walking poles for men, women, and children at Zurich Airport.
The Rollerblade website discusses the health benefits of these activities:
“According to medical research, rollerskating and Inline Skating rank in the top 3 activities that improve or maintain physical fitness and general well-being. The medical world has declared Inline Skating better for your health than jogging. Inline Skating at 20 MPH, a skater burns 6 calories per minute or 360 calories per hour.”
