As a result, we wrote about the top 5 luxury airport hotels in North America. This time, we’re taking things overseas to our favourite luxury airport hotels, European edition.
The Top 5 European Luxury Airport Hotels
1. Sofitel Hotel Heathrow – London, England
The Sofitel London Heathrow Hotel is the only hotel that is connected to Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport. It’s also only a 21-minute express train ride away from Central London! This luxury airport hotel offers over 25 different spa treatments, a fitness centre and a hair salon to get you ready for your stay. Start with afternoon tea at Tea 5 then move onto happy hour at one of two bars: Sphere and Perrier-Jouet. Finish off with French cuisine at La Belle Epoque or a live-cooked fresh meal from Vivre.
2. Hilton Munich Airport – Munich, Germany
The Hilton Munich Airport is a 5-star luxury airport hotel that is just as gorgeous to stop and stare at than it is to actually stay there. It really is a work of art. With glass walls and an abundance of plants, the stunning hotel is located between terminals 1 and 2 for easy access after your flight. They offer many incredible suites (including the Senator Suite which has everything you’d ever need) and a gorgeous spa to purge all that post-flight stress.
3. Radisson Blu Hotel Zurich Airport – Zurich, Switzerland
The Radisson Blu Hotel is the only hotel in the area that has direct access to the terminals at Zurich International Airport. Pretty convenient, huh? As for luxuries, Radisson Blu starts at $200/night and makes up for the price with the amazing Italian food they have on site at Filini Restaurant. They also have private dining rooms for up to 12 guests, an incredible wine tower bar with over 4,000 bottles of wine and a fitness centre + spa where you can work out, get beautified or just relax in luxury.
4. Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel – Milan, Italy
The Sheraton Milan Malpensa is a luxurious airport hotel that you can enjoy straight from the gate. The hotel is connected to Terminal 1 at Malpensa Airport and starts at $175/night (we call that affordable luxury). Sherman’s Travel Blog rates it just as much of a “trendy, social hub” as a place to kick back between flights. They’ve got a bar, a restaurant serving fine Italian cuisine and even daily social hours with wine tasting! Doesn’t get much more Italian than that.
5. Le Meurice Hotel – Paris, France
While Le Meurice technically isn’t a luxury airport hotel (it’s not directly at the airport), it definitely screams luxury. One of their luxurious offerings you won’t find at other hotels is a hostess to meet you at the airport and to collect your luggage for you! It’s a whopping $1,000+ per night at Le Meurice but let us reassure you, it’s well worth it. After all, there are spa packages, exquisite brunches and Parisian dining like no where else.
